Montgomery Classic Construction (MCC) was founded over a decade ago by John Montgomery, who brought together a team of trusted and experienced builders—Pat Pickens to lead operations, and Ray Kash and Doug Julian to bring their proven expertise in the field. Having worked together for years before, the four shared a strong bond built on friendship, trust, and a common vision.
Their mission was simple yet powerful: to remove unnecessary steps and overhead that slowed down projects, to build lasting relationships with clients, and to craft beautiful, timeless homes of the highest quality. Streamlined and personal, MCC quickly earned a reputation for integrity, craftsmanship, and consistently exceeding client expectations.
In February 2024, the MCC family experienced an immeasurable loss when John Montgomery passed unexpectedly. While deeply heartbroken, Pat, Doug, and Ray were strengthened by the outpouring of love from the many lives John touched. United in purpose, they chose to honor John’s legacy by continuing the work they began together—committed to the same values of excellence, friendship, and trust that defined the company from the start.
Today, Montgomery Classic Construction continues to build both relationships and legacy homes for clients they proudly call friends. MCC constructs 8-12 custom homes each year along the Old Hillsboro corridor in Nashville, maintaining a personal, hands-on approach with every project.

Doug Julian / PARTNER
A Kentucky native and graduate of Lipscomb University, Doug is a devoted fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. He and his wife, Lacey, have two daughters, Blakely and Landry. Doug enjoys being outdoors, throwing the football on the beach, and cheering on his girls at their soccer games—with plenty of laughter and good times along the way.

Ray L. Kash / PARTNER
Originally from Alabama, Ray graduated from Auburn University and remains a proud Auburn Tigers fan—War Eagle! Ray and his wife, Kristin, have two sons, Samuel and Jacob. He enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, spending time with family, and fishing of all kinds—especially fly fishing.

Pat Pickens / PARTNER
Born and raised in Ohio, Pat attended Lipscomb University and proudly cheers for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He and his wife, Jennie, enjoy life with their three children—Thomas, Alene, and Joseph. Pat spends most of his free time coaching or cheering on their kids in sports. Whether it’s football, baseball, softball or basketball he treasures this time with his kids. He is active at church and loves time at home with the family. If he has a free morning you’ll find him fly fishing on quiet Middle Tennessee streams.

Nathan Cyphers / SUPERINTENDENT
Born and raised in Franklin, Tennessee, Nathan is a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an avid Tennessee Vols fan. He enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and can often be found working on cars and trucks in his spare time. Nathan values time with friends and family, including his parents, Kim and Jeff, and his brother, Nick. Whether it’s sharing a meal, catching a game, or spending a day outside, Nathan is happiest surrounded by the people he loves.
